The Anatomical Pathology Department of the Faculty of Medicine, Airlangga University successfully held the Surabaya Pathology Update (SURPLUS) 2019 event, in the FK UNAIR Hall, (January 25-26 2019).
Surabaya Pathology Updates 2019 is an annual agenda organized by the Department of Anatomy Pathology FK UNAIR to ensure connectivity between colleagues of pathology anatomy from within and outside the country.
“This event is a form of our spirit to keep pace with the development of the medical world in general and specifically in the field of anatomical pathology which is very clearly developed,” said Chair of the Anatomy Pathology Department FK UNAIR Sjahjenny Mustokoweni, dr., Sp. PA (K), MIAC .
On that occasion, members of the Indonesian Pathology Association (IAPI) Surabaya Branch donated a set of microscope equipment complete with cameras and computers to the FK UNAIR Doctor of Education S1 Study Program Management.
The event was attended by around 80 participants from various cities in Indonesia. Like Batam, Medan, Bandung, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, Mataram and of course most of the members of the East Java regional IAPI (Indonesian Pathology Association).
This SURPLUS 2019 event will address topics related to Head and Necks in the field of Anatomical Pathology. Not without reason, According to Sjahjenny, Anatomy Pathology in Surabaya, there are still not many people who have experience in the field of head and neck.
On that occasion, Vice Dean II FK UNAIR Prof. Dr. Budi Santoso, Dr., SpOG (K) officially opened the event.
“We all know that scientific updates in a field are to answer existing progress so that the opportunity we have to pause specifically learns to become expertise. So that the advances in the field of pathology partners, for example in surgery, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynecology, all move forward and along with each other to progress together, “he said.
